Meet Rachel

Headshot B&W sqr_edited_edited.png

As a Qualified member of ANZACATA, Rachel began her personal and educational Art Therapy journey at the start of 2015. This transformed her relationship with her own lived experience of anxiety, depression, and early childhood trauma in a way that felt meaningful and profound beyond measure, including times Art Therapy has gently nudged her out of her comfort zone, and still does!

Sharing this modality became Rachel's life purpose and soul mission. As founder of Soul Creative, Rachel loves to connect with clients, new & old, younger & older, inviting them to explore their creativity from a place of openness, curiosity and wonder. She believes engaging the senses and becoming present and embodied in the living experience is something many people rarely do in daily life. This process alone can be profound and transformational!

Rachel's  'Soul Creative' Story

Rachel's passion for the healing arts ignited with an Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Art Therapy, leading to working with high-needs children at a special school, the creation of a group program for Mental Health peer support students, and therapeutic engagement of people experiencing homelessness. Following this with community-focused Art Therapy workshops and 1:1 sessions, Rachel later advanced her education with a Bachelor of Arts Psychotherapy, where she was drawn to both Eco-psychotherapy and Online Arts Therapy, enhancing both her connection with nature and the global community. This led to the integration of Nature Therapy and Telehealth Art Therapy upon establishing Soul Creative on the Sunshine Coast. Currently pursuing a Master's in Therapeutic Arts Practice, Rachel is dedicated to lifelong learning, aiming to provide the most innovative and effective therapy she can.

Spiral symbol of healing in Art Therapy Sunshine Coast and NDIS Art Therapy

Rachel offers Art Therapy to a broad spectrum of individuals, including adults seeking personal growth, relationship support, mental and emotional well-being, and physical health improvements, as well as children and young people facing mental health issues, neurodiversity, or challenges with family, friendships, and school. Her services extend to those with NDIS funding for various disabilities, along with self-funded individuals.

As a practitioner who considers herself more of a therapist than an artist, Rachel specializes in accessible, multi-modal Arts Therapy. This approach encompasses a range of creative expressions, such as visual arts, dance, movement, creative writing, sound, and music, facilitating deep personal insights and shifts in awareness through a process of gentle, arts-based inquiry. Rachel's methods encourage the awareness of patterns and behaviours in a safe, nurturing environment, fostering acknowledgement and acceptance through empathy and understanding.

Rachel is adept at conducting online Telehealth Art Therapy sessions, offering the comfort and convenience of remote therapy that feels intimate and personal. She provides flexible scheduling, including early mornings and late evenings, to accommodate different time zones for both national and international clients. Rachel's expertise includes working with NDIS participants, offering in-home services across Noosa and the Sunshine Coast and collaborating with plan managers for therapy support under the Improved Daily Living category.

Rachel loves cultivating intimate online healing communities with her Online Group Art Therapy Program "OWN your UNIQUE self!" which she offers 3 - 4 times a year.
